Cancer CAREpoint Nutrition Class

Research shows that proper nutrition can help cancer patients with recovery, vitality and quality of life.  Cancer CAREpoint offers three different nutrition classes on Mondays, from 11:30-4:30.  Classes deliver information about the best nutrition during and after treatment, and provide recipes and information about how eating well can make a difference in your health. In addition, private phone nutrition consultations are available with nutritionist Nancy Birang, B.S., MT (ASCP), N.C.

Nutrition Basics
11:30am-12:30pm 
Learn the basics of using food to sustain and heal before, during and after treatment.

New!  Your Cancer-Fighting Plate
1:00-2:30pm
Build your own personalized cancer-fighting plate.  Each week will fous on a specific piece of a meal–Carbohydrates, Vegetables and Fruits, Protein, Fats/Desserts, Starches, and Booster Foods.

Cancer-Fighting Nutrition
3:00-4:30 pm
Topic-based classes with in-depth nutrition information.  Examples of topics include:

  • Setting Goals for Healthier Eating
  • Cancer-Fighting Nutrition on a Budget
  • Healing Power of Mushroomi
  • Make Your Own Smoothies
  • Super Foods to Boost Immunity
  • Healing Teas
  • Eat to Boost Your Brain Power
